From the incredible yard with tree house, swingset, open grassy area, and patio space perfect for enjoying beverages whilethe kids play, to the delightfully charming accommodations inside, it is a place to make memories. There is enough space to bring the whole family,even a lovely private cottage for the in-laws! There is a great, easy walking trail right beside the property which leads to an elementary schoolwith a great playground, or further for those who want a longer walk. The property is also walking distance to the ferry and shops, as well as the spa at the Galiano Inn. The deer come and go frequently around the property, as do the eagles. The island itself has so much to offer, including great bike rides and amazing beaches. We found our experience relaxing and peaceful, the exact getaway we were looking for. We were surrounded by beautiful trails, great biking and water access. The property boasts of a fabulous childrens play area, providing endless hours of exploration, and imaginative fun, plus occasional sightings of wildlife! The cottage was comfortable and fully furnished with a cozy and warm feeling; a home away from home. Once you’ve been here, you’ll get it. The main cabin was well equipped and very comfortable and clean. We also utilized the secondary cottage which was perfect for a secondary family. Our kids loved the property, especially the special kids house in the garden. The cottage was so cozy and just the perfect size for us, and it had all of the amenities we could ever ask for, including a loft style master bedroom, the cutest room for the kids furnished with bunkbeds, as well as two separate sitting areas. The best part was all of the fun for the kids which included a huge grass area, a swing set, a playhouse and even a treehouse! The ocean sits across the road for one of the most beautiful views on a sunny afternoon, and the yard became a playland for our two little ones! It was a much needed break from the business of the city and we created memories at the Wheatleys to last a lifetime. Anytime of year is great at the Wheatley house – we have stayed in both the spring and summer months. We had a fabulous time – we strolled down to the dock, grilled on the deck, went to the spa down the road and had cozy fires at night! The Brinds. This place has a way of making time stand still and everyday “stuff” just melts away the second you set foot on the property. We didn’t want to leave at the end of our stay and will absolutely go back. A big thank you to Maggie and Noah for such a lovely place to unwind and explore, for both kids and adults. The Graham Family Staying at the Galiano Getaway is just what the doctor ordered, whether that being peace and tranquility, family time, back to nature or all of the above.
